Mehrangarh Fort
Originally built in 1806 the fort has been added to many times since then.One of the most impresive and formidable structures that looks down from a height of 125 meter. The solid walls with tiny opening appears so daunting that it is easy to imagine the dread with which the enemies must have viewed it. That is how the fort appear from the outside- but when you are inside it is as if you have entered into a different world alltogether-magnificient palaces with marvelously carved panels and latticed windows like the moti mahal, phool mahal, Sheesh Mahal and the Daulatkhana. This fort is one of the largest fort in India. It is spread over an area of 5 sq km, with seven gates.
Umaid Bhawan Palace
This immense palace known as Chittar Palace because of the local chittar sandstone used.An impressive sandstone structure, the palace is today run as a hotel.The only palace built in 20th century under the famine .It was built in a time of peace and is quite western in its design. It was built as a famine relief project which employment to people for 16 years.
Jaswant Thada
A collection of royal cenotaphs, built in white marble lies very close to the fort, built in 1899 in commemoration of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II rare portraits of Jodhpur rulers are also to be seen at Jaswant Thada. It is situated in the middle of the Umaid public gardens.
Mahamandir Temple
Built in 1812, this is an old walled town with few hundred houses. The temple with 84 beautifully carved pillars is an architectural wonder.
Kailana Lake
11 Km away from city an artificial lake on the Jaisalmer road. A very popular picnic spot with spectaculars sunsets.
